The Georgia Building Authority receives sixth consecutive National Procurement Award
Steve Fanczi, Deputy Executive Director and Rey Palma, Procurement Services Director for the Georgia Building Authority (GBA) received notice from the National Procurement Institute (NPI) on July 25, 2016 that GBA Procurement Services has achieved its sixth consecutive Award of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) award. The award is earned by entities that meet a rigorous criteria for proper, ethical, efficient and effective procurement services. The application for the award addresses operational, procedural, administrative, legal, ethical and policy matters. Only full compliance with each element tested by the application is granted a score. Only about 30% of the submittals earn the award. Statistically this year only ten (10) public agencies (city, county, state) in Georgia and thirteen (13) state agencies nationwide achieved the award.
The National Program to Benchmark Organizational Excellence in Procurement
In 1995, the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI) established a program designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) is awarded annually. This prestigious award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the procurement organization.
